GYA Meeting Minutes

June 6, 2005

Members Present: Shane Edwards- President, Bam Gillespie- VP, Cherie Connor- Treasurer, Terry Carr- Secretary, Bobby Woodard- Baseball Commissioner, Jennifer Reed- Softball Commissioner, Lynn Fletcher, Tonya Newman, Gerrado Gonzalez, Sara Price, Rick McMullan, Elizabeth Kulbeth, Robert Franze, Lauren Rogers, Wayne Gore, Tanya Watson, Ted Stephens, Richard Johnson, Paul Reed, and Greg Whitaker

 Meeting called to order at 19:20

AGENDA

Baseball-  Baseball season is complete.  Bobby advised end of season tournament was based on season records.  The All-Stars are approaching and Gunter hosts June 25 to June 30.  All-Star meeting is June 11.  Suggestions were taken on the setup for gates and amounts for charging guests during the All-Star Tournament.

Fees:    $4.00 13 and up

$1.00 5-12 years of age

FREE 4 and under

Mrs. Kulbeth has access to sound equipment and Flags.  Ted Stephens offered to make sure lights were turned off on the fields when not in use.   Shane mentioned playing the 2006 season east of HWY 75 and to make amendment to Coaches Code of Ethics.

Motion was made to add Code by Mrs. Kulbeth and Lynn Fletcher Second the motion.

Code Amendment- I understand as the Head Coach of a GYA team, I will not coach any other team for the duration of that season including tournaments and All-Stars. 

Parks and Rec- Ted Stephens stated that GYA could use Baseball fields located by the old Field house.  Stephens proposed building one field far west of the field until more funds and supplies can be secured.  Stephens suggested several people (Bobby Woodard/ Rawlison Electrical, Garner dirt work, Rick McMullan donate or get materials at reduced rate, Paul Reed stated he had light poles) who might donate time, money, or supplies.

Football- Still need commissioner- Fred Weber was phoned and said he would do it with help.

Cheerleading- Lori and Shanie Schmitz stated they would be commissioner via telephone.

Track- Track meet is June 25.  Still need volunteers and concessions.

Basketball- Mrs. Kulbeth stated she was addressing playing by the official rules for the older children.

 

Soccer- No Commissioner and nothing reported.

 

Treasure- GYA has $8,165.63.  A copy of all transactions and funds present was available for viewing at the meeting.

Bam Gillespie wanted to announce that every child in GYA softball/baseball received either a participation trophy or medal.

Next Meeting- July 5th, 2005 at 19:00 hrs at Cub Zone Day Care.
