GYA Meeting Minutes

Basketball No commissioners in attendance. Shane made proposal that we begin to play by the complete rule book in every sport (and in all ages) so that when the kids get older and have to play teams from other areas (who already know all the rules), that our teams and kids are not at a disadvantage. Decision to be made at next GYA meeting.
Celina & Prosper called to see if we want to play them in Basketball for 3rd & 4th and 5th & 6th grades. Decision to be made at next GYA meeting.
Football Season starts June/July. Need commissioner ASAP.
Baseball Commissioner Bobby Woodard present. Commissioner has this seasons baseball pictures and will give them to the head coaches. Picture retakes have been rescheduled.
All Star Tournament is coming up but dont have specific dates or details until upcoming league meeting takes place. All Star uniforms cant have advertising on them (Dixie League rules) so new uniforms are required. Also need a temporary fence per Dixie rules.
End of Season Tournament is scheduled for June 4th 10th. No other details known at this time.
Parental complaints were discussed regarding select team coaches taking priority over GYA. Coach involved was present and indicated that he had already made apologies to all effected kids and parents regarding the forfeited game. No parents affected were in attendance.
Soccer No commissioner or representative present. Starts up again July/August. Need to confirm new commissioner ASAP.
Track No commissioner or representative present. Track meet is June 25. Volunteers are needed contact Sara Price (track commissioner) or Bruce Keatts (running the meet).
Treasury Report No report.
Administrative Decision was made to have meetings regularly now the 1st Monday of every month at Cub Zone.
Next GYA Meeting June 6th at Cub Zone.
Motion to adjourn was made, seconded & agreed to unanimously by all attending members.
